Conference Rooms allow multiple users to call into the same endpoint for group conversations or meetings. Conference rooms consist of one moderator and one or more participants. Conference Rooms can be created on-the-fly or the same Conference Room can exist. For example, a weekly conference call can use the same Conference Room and PIN.


Conference Rooms can be accessed by any of the following methods:


1. A phone number

2. Extension

3. A menu option


If a greeting is present, it will play before the caller is promoted to enter their PIN. Callers must enter a PIN to join the conference. Hold music is played until the Moderator has joined the conference. Different tones indicate if a caller has joined or left the conference.

Once the Moderator has joined the conference they have a level of control over "Background noise level" (Energy) which can be used to isolate or clarify all voices.

Conference Room Table



The conference rooms table includes the following components:


  • Name Column: The name of the conference room is listed within this column. You can click/select the name of the conference room within this column and you will be redirected to the edit form of the respective conference room selected.
  • Edit Column: This column includes the edit icon. Each edit icon is associated with a conference room record within the conference room table. When you select the edit icon for a specific conference room record, you are redirected to the edit form of that conference room.
  • Delete Column: This column includes the delete icon. Each delete icon is associated with a conference room record within the conference room table. When you select the delete icon for a specific conference room record, a dialog box appears requesting you to confirm your request to delete the specific conference room. There are two options: the 'Cancel' button or the 'Delete button.' If you select/click the 'Cancel' button, the delete process is terminated and you would be redirected to the instance's main page. If you select the 'delete' button, the delete process would be complete/fulfilled. The respective conference room would be deleted and permanently removed from the conference room table list.

  • Origins ColumnThe origins column includes an origins icon that is associated with each and every conference room record in the conference room table. When you select/click on an origins icon associated with a specific conference room record, you are able to view and modify the destination and fail over of all features that route to the selected conference room record. 

  • Routing Column: The routing column shows the visual/graphical dial plan that displays a directional graph from top to bottom. Select the 'Return to Site' button on this page in order to be redirected to the main instance page. 

Conference Room Edit Form



The following are the components included within the conference room edit form:


  • Name: Edit/update the name of the conference room within this field (e.g. the name of a conference room can be edited from 'Test Conference Room 1' to 'Test Conference Room 2')
  • PIN: While there are no limits on how long a PIN can be, it is recommended that the PIN number be between 4-6 digits. When a participant calls the phone number associated with the conference room, an operator will request you to enter the PIN in order to participate in the call. Enter the PIN number. Depending on when you call into the conference call and/or if the moderator is present, you will here music on hold.
  • Moderator PIN: This is the unique PIN the moderator will enter in order to control the Conference Room. 
  • Music on hold and Greeting: Add an audio file for both music on hold and greeting. While both are not required, they are recommended. Recordings can be in any audio or video format under 10 MB.
